Job Overview

A Registered Nurse (RN) – Psych – Multiple Shifts provides specialized nursing care to individuals experiencing acute or chronic psychiatric conditions, behavioral health issues, and mental health crises. Working across various shift options within specialized behavioral health settings, the nurse performs comprehensive physical and psychological evaluations, administers psychotropic medications, monitors client safety, and maintains a structured therapeutic environment.

As a key member of an interdisciplinary care team, a Registered Nurse (RN) – Psych – Multiple Shifts collaborates closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists to implement tailored treatment plans. The role involves managing crisis interventions, facilitating de-escalation techniques, educating patients and their families on coping strategies, and advocating for optimal long-term mental health recovery.

Job Details

• Job Title: RN: Psych
• Setting: Psychiatric Hospital
• Pay Range: $2,172.64 - $2,281.27 weekly gross
• Schedule: 12-Hour days/nights, 36/48 hours per week, rotating shifts, including weekend shifts and must be able to work overtime
• Contract Length: 16 Weeks
• Candidate Type: Local and traveler friendly
• Requirements: 1 year of experience as a RN, Qualified applicants MUST have at least 1 year of experience in Psych, Valid Registered Nurse license, Be willing to obtain WV or compact state licensure

Responsibilities

• Accurately administer prescribed medications and initiate intravenous therapies
• Conduct thorough health assessments to identify patient needs and formulate care plans
• Make daily rounds to assess physical and emotional status and implement interventions
• Respond to patient and family concerns, documenting and communicating resolutions
• Serve as a shift leader and resource to other staff members
