Job Title: CVICU | RN – Registered Nurse
Location: Baltimore, MD
Setting: Hospital
Pay Range: 2077.23 – 2181.09
Schedule: 19:00 – 07:00
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Candidate Type: Traveler
Requirements: ACLS, BLS; 2 years CVICU experience; able to admit and take fresh hearts; comfortable with POD 1 hearts; at least 1 travel assignment; completed at least 1 travel assignment Additional skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, post-cardiac surgery care, assistance with chest tube insertion/removal, care of ventilated patients, and experience with pacers and IV insulin protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized care to cardiac ICU patients, including postoperative management of cardiac surgery patients.
- Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias, and manage patients with temporary and transvenous pacers.
- Assist with chest tube procedures and ventilated patient care.
- Adhere to infection control and medication protocols, including flu vaccination requirements.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team using SBAR and shift notes, and utilize Cerner/MedConnect charting systems.
