Job Title: Cardio Thoracic ICU Registered Nurse
Location: Chesapeake, VA
Setting: Hospital
Pay Range: 2072.32 – 2175.94
Schedule: 07:00 – 19:30
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Candidate Type: Traveler
Requirements: 2 years experience in an CVICU/CTICU; travel experience preferred; Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand; proficient in Epic; BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized patient care in the Cardio Thoracic ICU, including management of arterial lines, PICC lines, and central lines.
- Administer blood products, IV sedation, and procedural sedation, with titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
- Monitor and manage post-cardiac surgery patients, including intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella, and ventilated patients.
- Manage hemodynamic monitoring such as FloTrac/Vigileo and Swan Ganz, interpret dysrhythmias, and handle multi-system organ failure.
- Ensure infection prevention and apply isolation precautions, including PPE use and wound care with drains or wound vacs.
