The SLPA works under the guidance of a speech-language pathologist and collaborates with caregivers and other professionals as appropriate. Strong interpersonal skills, reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting patient progress are essential.

Job Details:

The Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) will assist in delivering speech and language services to students in a school setting for the 2026 - 2027 school year. The role pays $36.61 - $38.44 per hour and offers both full-time and part-time options. Local and traveler candidates are welcome, with school-based experience preferred and training available for those willing to learn.

Candidates must have a valid Speech Language Pathologist Assistant license or certification and be willing to obtain state licensure if required. The SLPA will support communication development, assist with student needs, and collaborate with the educational team to provide consistent and effective services.

Responsibilities:

• Provide essential support and specialized care to students with speech and language concerns within the educational setting by implementing therapy plans developed by supervising Speech Language Pathologists.
• Collect data, monitor progress, and support classroom activities based on student plans of care.
• Collaborate with school staff, therapists, and families to ensure students receive services tailored to their individual needs.
• Support implementation of IEP goals and documentation of student progress.
• Assist with speech and language activities, small groups, and classroom integration as directed by supervising SLPs.
